Plumbing Calculation
1. INTRODUCTION
1.1. Project Description
This calculation covers the
plumbing system for Office Building-B, Warehouse & Workshop and Electrical
Building. Potable water will be supplied from Main line. While Black and Waste
Water will be discharged to Septic tank. Then treated water will be directed to
drainage by free flowing/gravity.

2. OBJECTIVES
The
purposes of this Plumbing calculation are to determine:
a) Potable
cold water main pipe size
b) Sanitary
drainage (Black & Waste water) and vent main pipe size
c) Septic
Tank Capacity
3. DESIGN BASIS AND ASSUMPTION
3.1. Design Basis
3.1.1. Potable Water Demand
a. Potable
water demand calculation is based on the occupants water demand.
b. Potable
water demand for 1 occupant is based on Standard of Potable Water Consumption
per Day (SNI 03-7065-2005). See Appendix-2.
3.1.2. Potable Water Pipe
a. Potable
water flow is determined using fixture unit method.
b. Potable
water supply fixture unit (WSFU) is based on the table below.

d. Potable
water pipes size are determined using Hazen William Table for :
- PVC
pipe (Appendix-5)
e. Potable
water distribution piping which is supply close to a plumbing fixture, follow
to Water Supply Fixture Units (WSFU) and Minimum Fixture Branch Pipe Size, UPC
2000 (Appendix-3).
f. Minimum
flow pressure required is based on Standard of minimum flow pressure required
for Plumbing Fixture, IPC 2009 (Appendix-6).

c. Black
and Waste water pipes and sewer pipes size are determined by table of Maximum
Unit Loading and Maximum Length of Drainage and Vent piping (Appendix-8) with
1% minimum slope.
d. Vent
pipe size determined by table of Maximum
Unit Loading and Maximum Length of Drainage and Vent piping (Appendix-8)
3.1.4. Septic Tank
a. All
of Black and Waste water will be drained and treated in septic tank before
discharged to external drainage
b. Septic
tank capacity is based on total capacity of disposal Black and waste water per
day
c. Disposal
of Black and waste water determined based on number of occupants
d. Septic
tank will use Bio filtration system (packaged by vendor)
3.2. Assumptions
The
following assumptions are considered for the calculations:
- Maximum
recommended velocity of potable water pipe to be limited at 2.4 meter/second to
get low friction (NPC 2006),
- Sloping
of Black & gray water pipe within the building shall be minimum 1% refer to
table of Maximum Unit Loading and Maximum Length of Drainage and Vent piping
(Appendix-8)
- Maximum
flow friction, within the pipe is 100 mm/m
